Pro Evo 5

Im sure most of you have rushed straight out to the shops this weekend to buy the brand new version of the greatest ever football computer game.

As with every Pro Evo this game is only let down by the lack of proper kits and names...

NOT A PROBLEM ANYMORE!!!

I have just ordered a brand new memory card that has on it an option file with all the updated kits, players, stadiums, and leagues! As soon as it comes in the post I will swap one of the crap teams for NRFC, so that our very own names faces and kit will be on the game.

When its done I will be happy to make a copy for anyone that wants one, just get your memory card to me, I will copy it, and get it back to you asap!

Im not gona demand any money off of you boys but it will cost me £20 and a few hours of my less then precious time to create, so if you do want a copy a small donation of £2 to help cover the costs would be much appreciated.

Let me know!

May & Bakers v North Romford 16/10/2005

May & Baker won 7-0!

What can I say?
There was no match to speak about on Sunday, as only one team played, so there will be no comical match report this week. My thoughts about the game are summed up below.

We played shite, they were not much better.
We were 4-0 down at half time, all of which were our fault.
We ended up losing 7-0, all of which were our fault.
Not one of the team played well, although Ross did try hard.

Team: All shit (including subs) Brown, Hollamby, Cordell, Rabey, Alan Vint, Richards, Wadsworth, Neville, Sutton, Parmenter, Clifton. (subs, Ricky, Johnson, Jordan Vint)

Report by Kev Parmenter (who quite thankfully did not have his video camera there)

(editor)
North Romford fell behind very early on but did have a couple of chances to hit back. One hit the woodwork another was pushed onto the woodwork and you do have to wonder had they gone in it could have been a different game, but they didnt and it wasnt.
All in all a poor performance from everyone (bar Clifton) that must leave a bitter taste in the mouth with a two week break upon us. One thing is for sure, when the team next meet up they will be looking for a lot more from their so called bigger players!

North Romford Player in TV advert...

NRFC proved how strong their marketing value is this year when Phones 4u signed up sweeper Jamie Rabey for a TV commercial promoting their brand.

Its thought that the inspiration and costume for the character came when Jamie was spotted by talent scouts at a fancy dress party to celebrate the 30 birthday of NRFC's former hero Kevin Parmenter in a Chadwell Heath pub.

It seems they took the head band from the costume of another player, Tony Sutton, and added it to the village people outfit worn by Rabey as the big long feather head set thing he originally had was 'far too heavy'.

Woodford Hammers vs North Romford - 9/10/2005

NRFC's tremendous start to the season came to a shuddering halt on Sunday when they were beaten 2-0 away from home by Woodford Hammers.

After much confusion about who was going to ref the game it was decided that Timid Mick would be the man with the whistle so David Wadsworth was drafted in to conduct team affairs in a Director of football style roll. The team remained unchanged from the previous game and it also had a guest appearance from Erik the Turk on the subs bench. This could have turned nasty because Sid the Greek was in attendance as well so both men had to be kept apart.
We would have had more subs if Nev's mate Jason and Nev's mate Jason's brother Simeon had turned up and this is matter for Timid to address.

The game started brightly for both teams but it was Woodford Hammers who took an early lead when Shrek just managed to beat an on rushing Big man and just about touch it over his head and into the net. With the amount of Ginger players that Woodford had it was like playing against a multi pack of Scotch eggs. North Romford then managed to create a few good chances with Nev flicking the ball over a defenders head to Marky P who managed to create a yard for himself and force a smart save from the Woodford keeper. Marky P also had another chance which I wont mention for the fear of him killing me!
Woodford then managed to get on top and they created several chances with the Big man outstanding again as he acted like a one man human wall. NRFC couldn't really get back into the game and a few people then started to get frustrated and commit some silly fouls (Waddy/Bosh petulant) with Waddy attempting to create the famous 2 footing of Marky P on the Flairs dancefloor and in they went 1-0 down at half time.
The 2nd half started much better for NRFC and after seeming down and out could maybe see a way back into the game. A few more chances came their way with Nev heading straight at the keeper after some good work from Rossell.
With NRFC becoming more and more annoyed with themselves the fouling started again with Nick committing the latest tackle ever seen in the history of football. The ball had been played then Nick cut the player into 2. The player then tried to stand up saying it never hurt then his legs gave way which resulted in several players pissing themselves laughing and Spicy treading on his hand for good measure. The ginger!!!!!
With NRFC pressing forward it was once again left to the Big man to keep them in the game with a string of world class saves (England's number 1) and we even had time for Smiler nearly giving a penalty away and a rather camp Ohhhhhh from Waddy.
The 2nd goal was a killer blow to NRFC's hopes of getting anything from the game. NRFC players didnt let their heads drop but a few players seemed to become very tired and maybe a bit of complacency had come to the team. Timid Mick and his director of football have got a few discussions to have this week but is Timid man enough to make changes with Sutton avalible for the first time this season? Hopefully Puffin will be back next week to write the report as this bit takes to long!!!
Report by Jamie Rabey.
Team:
Big Man, Veteran, Cordelli, Spicy, Smiler, Student (Erik the Turk) , Ace, Bugs, Waddy, Dangerous, Rossell.

Barman... a round of KO's please!

I know this might not go down too well with the traditional NRFC boys who love their larger and think that all these poncy drinks are for poofs, but we all know that the team has a few lads that like to experiment with a cheeky livener to help their night on the way!

Im sure it has a different name but 'Kick Off' sounds good to me as that is exactly what it does for your night (and what some of you will do after a few of them).

Its made in a tall glass using the same recipe as a Long Island Ice Tea but you swap the Coke for Red Bull, and add a bit of blue to give it a more poisonous look.

Full recipe is;
Gin, Rum, Tequila, Vodka, Blue Curacao, Red Bull, Ice.

NB, not sure the night before a game would be the right time to try one
